SMI can define performance metrics for management, site
safety personnel and first line supervisors through the
use of a survey instrument. We provide a simple measurement system
for tracking improvement. These surveys are intended to define,
clarify and monitor specific safety behaviors, skills and responsibilities.
These new metrics will allow for more meaningful monthly/quarterly
tracking of progress and improvement toward defined safety goals
and objectives. We also provide specific skill training for improving
supervisory effectiveness.
Some of the skills evaluated are:
Organizational capabilities (goal setting, pre-planning and
time management)
Providing direction, positive coaching
Maintaining focus, achieving goals and objectives
Effective two-way communication
Resource allocation effectiveness
Character – Responsibility, accountability and trustworthiness
