The Safety Culture Analysis (SCA) is in-depth evaluation of fundamental
and essential categories or integrators that compose your safety,
environmental and health culture. Within each integrator, your culture
is operationally defined in terms of what behaviors you and your
employees at all levels of the organization believe to be ideal.
An employee perception survey is developed from this information
and completed by employees. A comparative analysis is then made
of your present culture measured against your newly defined ideal
culture.
The resulting report provides a breakdown of each department, position
and category along with listing specific strengths and weaknesses
so that a precise blueprint will be available for management and
supervision to follow. The report also includes an analysis of each
category explaining those statements that were rated above and below
expectations. Also provided are specific recommendations for improvement.
The categories specifically identify the level of:
Management's leadership and commitment to safety
Employee's involvement and ownership for safety
Safety communication and feedback
Employee's attitude and motivation toward safety
Safety and health training effectiveness
SH&E effectiveness
Annual re-surveys of your employees utilizing the same survey instrument
will provide specific documentation and measurable differences within
each category. This will allow you to evaluate what works versus
what doesn't and where you need to place your valuable and limited
resources. Therefore, you'll be able to spend your time and dollars
on initiatives that will provide the greatest return on your investments.
